“Online Beginner’s Level Sake Seminar” for Foreign Residents to be Held

As Japanese cuisine (washoku) has come to be widely recognized since recorded on the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, Japanese sake has also become increasingly popular around the world. Fascinated by the depth of sake, more and more tourists are coming to Japan to visit sake breweries. Then, we decided to present an online beginner’s level sake seminar for foreign residents in Japan on Saturday, February 27, 2021, starting from 2:00 p.m. Before the seminar, 400 persons who have won the draw among all participants will receive three bottles of sake produced in Tokai region and three kinds of paired food, so that they can enjoy sake during the seminar. The lecturers are Ms. Ayako Yoshida, President of Bien Global Co., Ltd, who is an international sake sommelier and sake promotion consultant, and Mr. Christopher Ducloux , Assistant Food and Beverage Manager of Hilton Nagoya. You will learn about history and culture of sake and experience an interactive course of sake tasting. There will also be a video in which foreign brewery workers (kurabito) and brew masters (toji) appear. The seminar takes about 60 minutes, which helps to fully explain the attraction of sake. You will acquire a wide range of knowledge about sake, not just the history and culture but also the types and manufacturing up to proper ways of drinking, so if you are interested, please take this opportunity to apply for the entry.
