Taste and learn about sake and food of Mie at an online event!The Nagoya Regional Taxation Bureau will hold an online symposium “GI Mie Symposium with Mr. Shinya Tasaki – Sake and food of Miketsukuni land Mie” from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 12. GI is a national system to protect local specialties that are related to the local climate. It is a geographical indication that the product is produced in the “correct place of origin” and meets a “certain standard”.
Before the event, three bottles of GI Mie sake and three kinds of snacks that pair with the sake will be presented to 150 participants who are chosen by lottery. On the day of online event, while enjoying sake and snacks at home, the participants can learn more about how the GI Mie sakes were produced and also about the value and charm. The symposium will be held at Shima Kanko Hotel, the venue for the G7 Japan 2016 Ise-Shima Summit. We will have Mr. Shinya Tasaki, President of the Japan Sommelier Association, Mr. Shinichiro Shimizu, Chairman of the Mie Sake Brewers Association and other guests, and there will be a lot of fun programs, consisting of Part I Live-style symposium and Part II Experiencing pairing with Mie’s abundant food with guests by inviting Shima Kanko Hotel’s executive chef.
