Talk about sake
SAKE selection is a sake competition established in 2018 by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), a large and prestigious wine contest where more than 10,000 wines have participated from all over the world every year. CMB was founded in 1994 sponsored by the Belgian Federal Public Service Economy. The competition is judged by 35 specialists including experienced sommeliers and journalists, based on blind tastings allowing for a fair and consistent evaluation. The awarded sake will be invited to events hosted by Japanese embassies in European countries or CMB, given an opportunity to promote the sake, continuously promoted by “Sake Ambassador”, and will be introduced in bulletins to be widely known in Europe. The first SAKE selection will be held in Toba City in Mie Prefecture. Mie is known for the Ise Grand Shrine which worships Toyouke no Okami (Grand Divine), a god of foodstuffs, while Toba is known for G7 2016 Ise-Shima Summit where sake produced in Mie was served.
